Parga is situated on southwest of Epirus region, near Acheron river; the town lies on the Ionian coast between the cities of Preveza and Igoumenitsa and is near the picturesque islands of Paxi, Antipaxi and Corfu. Parga is surrounded by mountainous countryside and is a resort known for its scenic beauty; although located on the mainland, it certainly has the ambiance of an island.
One of the most picturesque and cosmopolitan areas of northwest Greece, Parga is built amphitheatrically on the outskirts of the Venetian castle and is influenced by the Ionian architecture.

Parga is a graceful place that attracts visitors from around the world during the summer season. The town, apart from the Venetian castle, is best known for the small church on the little island of Virgin Mary. Numerous graphic stone-paved alleys show the way into the Venetian castle, shops, restaurants and bars in town.

It is noticeable that the sea of Parga comes under the Natura network due to its algae varieties. Almost all beaches in Parga are organized and offered for water sports; they can compete on equal terms with the Ionian Islands, for the title of the most sophisticated and recherché destination in the continental coast of the Ionian Sea.
